Some family fun this fall!

Harvest is over, the yard is all cleaned up and Peter is busy working hard on our end of season soil and nutrient amendments. We love fall here at Boondocks! Not only do we get a much needed reprieve from the crazy hours and chaos of harvest, but we get to enjoy the changing of the seasons, and the togetherness that comes with this time of year. Since we are a family operation, we thought it would be great to share a couple of our favorite local fall family events to get all of our followers in the mood… no that does not mean just pumpkin spice lattes and pumpkin ales!

Sunrock Farm - Wilder, KY

We have a special place in our heart for local children’s farm Sunrock Farm in Wilder Kentucky. Located just in the 471 loop, this is a magical fall oasis for family fun. Many of us visited here as children, some of us (Jason and Manda) even worked here in their youth. This place is a diamond in the rough, convenient, and one of the best places around for a fun outdoor adventure through the pumpkin patch. Say hi to Farmer Debbie and say Boondocks Hops sent you! You can learn more and register for a pumpkin patch tour by visiting their website -

A&M Orchard - Midland, OH

Another amazing aspect we love to enjoy in the fall is picking apples. The trick here is having the patience to wait until the first cold evening of fall when the sugars start to build in the fruit… then its game on and you will spot the Boondocks crew up in Midland, OH enjoying the apple harvest at A&M Orchard. The kids love to run around get some energy out, and we get some of the most delicious varieties of locally grown apples out there. A&M is a family run farm just like us, and we think they are great. Visit their facebook page - for more details and to get picking times and varieties. We highly recommend it!
